To Irene - With love from a few of your friends, associates and 30,000+ students of chiropractic.

Hi Irene,

I remember your Splanchnology class. Tough, tough, tough. I was failing and you encouraged me that I could make it and gave me some study helps. I got a 'C', which was my worst grade at Sherman, BUT the most meaningful as it gave me the discipline I needed to be disciplined in pursuing licensure and running a Class A office. Also, your board reviews were a riot! Always you deeply cared for us and chiropractic. That is why you have made me and so many others successful.

Gerry Giddings, D.C.

21 years ago, I took Irene Gold and Associates, acheiving success on the boards in both California and Arizona the first time. At that time, each state had their own review, and there was no part 3 or part 4. When part 3 came out, I took it and again passed, using the skills and study from Irene.

There is no one like Irene, period. She has the experience, the educational background, the instructors and the know how to get you through this type of testing.

But more important than anything, there is no one more committed, with more pure heart and drive, to ensure you get the license you need so you can help others with chiropractic.

Irene,
In the 30 years we have known each other, you have been my teacher, my employer, my partner, but MOST OF ALL MY FRIEND !!

I cannot begin to thank you for all you have done for me and my family. You are a wonderful caring, sharing human being. It is an honor and privilege to have you in my life. You are the straw that stirs the drink!!!!!
Much love,

John Donofrio D.C,. DABCN, FACFN

Irene, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the past 13 amazing years. From the time I first met you in May 1997 to today, you have demonstrated time and time again your love and passion for helping others. Whenever I needed help or just someone to talk to, you were always there. I want to thank you for the opportunities you have provided over the years which have helped me to become a better Chiropractor and instructor.

I look forward to many more years together.

Sincerely,
Joseph Thomas, D.C.

I was asked to tell a favorite story to honor Irene. The following are two of my favorite examples.

Story #1 - "How To Woo A Lady"

A colleague of mine whom I met while attending Sherman College had graduated, become quite successful, and was vacationing in the Caribbean alone.

This young lady was, among other things, one of the most stunningly attractive females I have known. Being an Italian Princess from Long Island, she also understood a plethora of colorful vulgarities that she regularly used with rhythmic beauty.

While sunbathing on the beach, a young man happened upon her and tried his best to make conversation. My friend would have nothing of it as she wanted to only relax on this vacation – not get hit on by some wolf.

After trying to find an ‘in’ with varied smalltalk, the young man asked her occupation.

“I’m a Chiropractor”, she said.

“Wow! Me, too!”, he exclaimed with joy.

F*%&$ YOU. Lying a#*&hole!”, she countered.

As he searched for a way to convince her that he was indeed a DC, she made the following request,
“You have two words that will make me know that you are really a Chiropractor. Otherwise, shut up and leave me alone.”

The fellow thought for a moment.

“Irene Gold”, he said.

They were soon married.

Words cannot express my gratitude for you and your program. I felt a weight lift off my shoulders yesterday and anxiously await parts 3 and 4 with the programs you offer. All of the information and specialized attention that I received is directly responsible for my scores.

I ...have been slow to pay you a huge complement. I was very impressed with your classes; and will recommend them to everyone I meet. You made me proud again of the people in Chiropractic Education... Before your class, I felt like I didn’t know where to start, and I had no particular feeling of optimism. My time with you in Atlanta has been the highlight of my educational experiences since my graduation from Chiropractic College in 1975. Thank you for your many contributions to the Chiropractic Profession.

Kenneth C. Davis, D.C.

Thank you that you have devoted your life and career to getting Chiropractors prepared to be in practice. It is an honor to know you. You are one of a kind! I consider myself privileged to be among those you have encouraged and prompted into the reality of Chiropractic licensure!

Jane Torrie, D.C.

Dear Dr. Gold,

I took your course in 1984. You were actually delivering the course then.

Thank you so very much. I am still practicing, and I am delighted to see that your course is still available, and much expanded.

Your course served me well and I went into the exams feeling confident that I was as prepared as I could be. National Board went great.

You provide a great service that touches millions of lives all over the world. Thank you for accepting my appreciation after all these years.

Sincerely,
Diana L. Pennington, D.C.

Story #2 - "Just A Lovely Morning Walk"

While studying for National Boards, some material came easier to me than others. Irene took me, like so many others, under her wing and I spent the better part of a few months traveling the country with her.

Besides mentally, I was also in need of physical education and Irene inspired me to wake up and go with her to the gym every morning for exercise. We would walk around and around the indoor track that was suspended over the exposed weights-and-machines area below.

As we walked at 5 am, Irene would teach, explain, lecture, and quiz me with mixed results and emotions.

Day after day. Week after week. She would talk. I would listen. She would ask. I would answer. She would ask. I would guess. She would yell. I would cringe. She would simulate a gait. I would laugh.

As test date got near, I would have my share of occasional profound memory loss which was met with varied emotions by Irene.

One morning, Irene was having a particularly hard time getting lab results through to me. At one point, her frustration overflowed and she grabbed my arm, stopped me from moving, and started screaming at the top of her lungs, “URINE! URINE! URINE! DON’T YOU KNOW ONE DAMN THING ABOUT URINE!”

It was at that moment that we both looked down and realized that every musclehead-wannabe in Metro Atlanta had stopped working out and was silently gawking at us from below.

We quickly started walking again and the subject matter moved onto something more orthopedic-testy.

I just wanted to say Thank You So Much for the Part 3 review. I went to the Daytona review along with the doctors review in Atlanta. I ... still doubted my scores when I went to review them today. Not because I doubted your classes, but because I failed in the past and continually doubted myself. But, I do not need to doubt myself any more. I passed this time with flying colors. Thank you again for believing in us.

I met my wife, Karen, during Irene's part I review. She was her school rep at Life College, in 1991. I eventually taught for Irene for over 13 years. My fondest memories were the restaurants we dined at, and staying up until 3 or 4 in the morning teaching for California State boards in Sunnyvale... Good times... We love Irene.

Please tell Irene that the help she gave me was far more valuable than the money I paid for the review. I am so happy that people like her still exist! A million thanks and all the best.
